How Big Step AI handles your data.
Big Step AI helps owner-operators and small service businesses catch missed and slow leads, follow up, and book work. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, how texts and calls work, and how you can ask us to correct or delete information.
Information we collect
Depending on how you reach us or what you hire us to build, we may collect:
- Business contact details (name, phone, email, business name, role)
- Form submissions and booking details
- Call, text, and lead metadata (time, number, source, tags, notes)
- Messages you send us by form, email, call, or text
- Project notes and workflow configuration details for client work
- Basic website and technical data (pages viewed, device type, referral source, approximate location) through our hosting and analytics tools
- Information you authorize us to access in connected business tools when we are implementing or supporting your system
We do not ask you to share passwords for connected accounts when a proper authorized connection is available.
How we use information
- To respond to your inquiry and schedule a Missed Money Audit or other appointment
- To call or text you about something you started (form, book, call, or text)
- To operate, secure, and improve our website and business systems
- To build, configure, and support lead-capture and follow-up systems you hired us to deliver
- To keep internal records for billing, support, and quality
- To meet legal or compliance requirements
Phone, text, and SMS program
If you give us a phone number, or you call or text (631) 546-7999, we may call or text you about your inquiry, appointments, reminders, and related customer care.
- Message and data rates may apply
- Message frequency varies
- Consent to marketing texts is not a condition of purchase
- Reply STOP to opt out of texts from us
- Reply HELP for help
We do not send cold promotional texts to purchased lists. Texts are for people who contacted us or who are existing clients under the terms of their engagement.
When we install similar systems for a client business, that client is responsible for their own consent language, opt-out handling, and compliance with phone and messaging rules for their customers.
Business systems and service providers
We run our website, calendar, CRM (the system that holds leads, conversations, and follow-ups), phone/text, automation, and related tools on hosted business platforms and carriers. Those providers process data only as needed to operate the service.
We may also use automation and AI features inside those systems to help draft replies, route conversations, book appointments, or summarize intake — always in service of responding to people who reached out or supporting a client-approved workflow.
Client systems we build
When a client hires Big Step AI, we may configure workflows, phone/text behavior, calendars, pipelines, websites, and related automations in the client’s business account. In that case:
- The client’s customer data belongs to the client
- We access it only to build, test, train the client’s team, troubleshoot, or support the engagement
- We do not sell client customer lists
- When the engagement ends, we remove our access except for limited records we must keep for legal, billing, or security reasons
AI and model-training limits
We may use automation and AI to help with intake, drafting, routing, scheduling, and support tasks you or a client directed.
We do not sell personal information to train foundation or generalized AI models. Client and prospect data is used to provide or improve the feature or service you asked for, not to train public AI models on your private conversations.
Human access
People at Big Step AI access personal information when needed to answer you, run an audit or project, fix a problem, handle security or abuse, meet a legal duty, or keep the business running. Access is limited to what the work requires.
Storage and security
We keep information in approved systems needed to provide the service. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards (access controls, account permissions, and secure connections where available). No method of transmission or storage is perfect; we work to reduce risk.
No sale of data
We do not sell your personal information, lead data, or contact lists. We do not use your information for unrelated third-party advertising.
Sharing
We share information only as needed to:
- Operate our website, communications, calendar, CRM, and hosting through service providers
- Complete work you asked us to do
- Comply with law, lawful process, or to protect people from fraud, abuse, or security threats
We do not share your information for others’ marketing.
Cookies and site analytics
Our site may use cookies or similar tools for basic function, security, and light analytics (for example, which pages are used). You can control cookies in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect site features.
Your choices — correction, deletion, and opt-out
You can:
- Reply STOP to end texts from our number
- Ask us to correct information we hold about you
- Ask us to delete information we hold, where applicable
Contact us at (631) 546-7999 or the email published on bigstepai.com. We will delete or anonymize what we can unless we must keep limited records for legal, security, billing, active project, or legitimate operational reasons.
If your data lives in a client’s system we built for them, we will point you to that business or help route the request when we still have a support relationship.
Children
This site and our services are for businesses and business buyers. They are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date on this page.
